NATLINE®: A PATENTED CELL MATURATION PLATFORM
For large scale production of functional human cells

To overcome the current bottlenecks of human cell modelling, Human Cell Design combines human iPSc and primary cell technologies with its proprietary maturation platform NatLine®. NatLine® amplifies and maturates human progenitor cells to provide unlimited quantities of truly mature and fully functional human cells. The produced terminally differentiated cells replicate native healthy or diseased adult human cells.

EndoC-βH5® – EndoC-βH5® cells physiological and functional characteristics are highly similar to those of native human pancreatic beta cells. They represent an invaluable tool to better understand human beta cell physiology, function, proliferation and apoptosis, and a major improvement compared to previous EndoC-βH versions and other beta cell models. EndoC-βH5® cells display robust GLP-1 and GIP receptor activity associated with insulin content and glucose stimulated insulin secretion levels, close to those of native human beta cells.

EndoC-βH3® – EndoC-βH3® human pancreatic beta cell line is an intermediate version of EndoC-βH® cells. EndoC-βH3® cells are conditionally immortalized and de-immortalization leads to an increase in insulin content and secretion. EndoC-βH3® cells thus represent a translational tool to study beta cell proliferation and apoptosis.

EndoC-βH1® – This high-quality human pancreatic beta cell line displays a homogeneity that exceeds 99% and an insulin content of 0.5 to 1 µg/million cells. Functionality of EndoC-βH1® cells has been validated using glucose stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS) assay. Our production and assay processes are conducted with rigor and precision, in full respect of the industry’s highest quality standards for reliability and reproducibility. HLA-A2 EndoC-βH5® – T-cell-mediated autoimmunity leading to beta cell death is a key factor in the progression of Type I diabetes. HLA-A2 EndoC-βH5® is a unique human cell model that robustly recapitulates the pathophysiology of T-cell mediated autoimmunity related to Human Type 1 diabetes. The histocompatibility antigen HLA-A*02 is a critical marker present on pancreatic beta cells of a large number of type 1 diabetic patients. HLA-A2 EndoC-βH5® is a cellular model expressing HLA-A*02 that can replicate in vitro the recognition and destruction of beta cells by CD8+ cytotoxic T cells. HLA-A2 Endoc-BH5® offers a unique solution to combine T-cell killing attack with measuring the indirect impact on insulin secretion and function loss.
